Charities and Risk

Charity Risk Management - Coming of Age - Conference logo

With tight resources, risk management often feels like an extra burden for charities. Many charities still do not have a risk register, for fear of wasting resources and creating another layer of bureaucracy. However - risk management does not have to be daunting. This year’s CFDG risk conference once again looks at practical solutions, examples, risks to consider and how to tackle them. Is it possible for charity risk management to finally come of age?

Although looking at the technical requirements of a risk register in its simplest way in one session, and at the link between insurance and risk registers in another, the conference also steps beyond the formal risk assessment and looks at a broad variety of risk factors. A number of charity case studies explore how different organisations are coping with a variety of risks, and risk experts look at specific areas in which you can improve your organisation's efficiency and processes.

The Conference aims

- focus charities on the positive impact risk management can have
- share good practice, new developments and perspectives in risk management
- encourage increased dialogue in the sector about risk

The conference is kindly supported by:

Encouraging Discussion

In addition to the opportunity to discuss risk issues during sessions, it will also be possible to continue conversations with peers and experts during breaks, or to browse through a few selected exhibition stands at the event.

At the closing of the day, delegates are also invited to attend a reception. Take the opportunity to continue discussions in an informal setting and exchange experiences with speakers and delegates, and take the chance to assess together what you have learnt from the day for your work during the next year.
