Our Services

We work with charities to provide:

• Assurance services and support. Our audit services are designed to be delivered with maximum added value and minimum disruption, using our considerable sector knowledge to identify the important audit issues. One key means of achieving this is careful liaison at the planning stage to ensure responsibilities are clearly defined and that the critical audit issues are identified. Our reporting is designed to advise management and the Trustees of all important issues (and their resolution) on a timely basis, so that their time is not wasted on immaterial matters.

• Direct tax and VAT advice. Our tax specialists are highly experienced in dealing with charities. For example we provide quarterly seminars on behalf of CFDG, we have provided VAT training seminars for the Charity Commission, and we have sat on several panels on behalf of the Charity Tax Reform Group. We also have considerable experience of advising on PAYE and National Insurance issues and dealing with tax compliance matters for both the charity and its subsidiary.

• Comprehensive advisory services. We can provide you with a wide range of other services such as advice on mergers, strategic and operational planning and governance. In addition we have a dedicated charities consultant, Leslie Jones, who was formerly Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director of WWF. He is available to carry out ad hoc consultancy projects for our clients.

We also organise a range of seminars, including Trustee Training, and produce regular publications on sector issues
