About the Conference

Are the risks faced by your charity fully understood throughout the organisation?  Are risks always explored when a new activity is considered?  Is risk management fully embedded in your Charity?  The desire to embed risk must have the full backing of the trustees and be driven by the Chief Executive.   The conference will look at embedding risk in the Charity, the roles of the Trustees and Finance Director in Risk Management and the role and format of a best practice audit and risk committee.

The conference also looks at risk at both the strategic and operational level.  Why is strategy important?  What are the new risks facing charities? How is risk managed during a period of major change in the Charity?  These are all key issues for the Finance Director at a strategic level; however, there are other tools that need to be used well.  The conference will also look at areas such as reserves policy, contracts, insurance and the current topical issue of charities and terrorism

The CFDG Risk Conference brings together experts and practitioners to look at the theory and practicalities of risk management in 2007. Where is the charity sector now? Do charities still miss the bigger picture? What practical tips and examples can you pick up from colleagues?
Join us for a day to look at practical and strategic elements of risk management and turn it into an opportunity for information, discussion and learning.

5.75 CPD Hours

The Conference aims to

In addition to the opportunity to discuss risk issues during sessions, it will also be possible to continue conversations with peers and experts during breaks, or to browse through a few selected exhibition stands at the event. At the close of the day, delegates are also invited to attend a reception. Take the opportunity to continue discussions in an informal setting and discuss with colleagues what you can take away for your day-to-day work from the event.
