Regional Chair of the West Midlands Committee, Roger Chester, looks back over the first two years of CFDG West Midlands.

“The region has been in operation for two years. During this time it has developed from a tentative start to an active group, running a programme of events that averages 20 attendees at each meeting – and that we like to think offers a programme that’s as attractive as the London meetings.

Whilst SORP related topics are always in demand I think members have also really enjoyed the meetings with a non-financial reporting flavour! Subjects that spring to mind are an erudite delivery of Socially Responsible Investment by Professor Paul Palmer and recently a session led by ROSPA on Disaster Recovery gave us excellent advice on risk avoidance.

With more than 70 members in the West Midlands, all coming from a wide range of charities, you’ll always find someone to talk to who understands the job you do and the challenges you face.

We have a very convenient city centre location for our meetings thanks to our hosts Baker Tilly who have been our commercial sponsor since the group began.”
