Regional Chair of the South West and Wales Committee, Roger Page, looks back over the first five years of CFDG S W and Wales.

“When this group was first formed in 2001, CFDG recognised that it was taking on a broad geographic sweep, but the support the group has received has been impressive.

Five years on we have 90 members in total, and most meetings average around 20 attendees. We recognise that there is no one perfect location for the meetings, but with the generous help of our corporate supporter PKF we have been able to hold meetings in both Bristol and Cardiff, and most recently in Exeter.

As the regional face of CFDG we have been able to draw in excellent speakers in the past from the newly formed Office of the Third Sector in the Cabinet Office, the Charity Commission and of course specialists from within the voluntary sector talking on such diverse subjects as charity mergers, change management and full cost recovery.

With a regular programme of five meetings a year there will always be something of interest – and an interesting group of people at each meeting ready and willing to talk about current issues.”
