CFDG Press Release: CFDG puts sustainability guidance online

Date: 15 September 2009

The Charity Finance Directors' Group (CFDG) have published their sustainability guidance online. A summary of Sustainability in Practice: monitoring and reporting and the appendices are publicly available on CFDG’s website, with the full publication available to CFDG members. CFDG’s comprehensive guidance addresses how and why charities should act and report on their environmental and social sustainability.

Keith Hickey, CFDG CEO says, “This HTML copy of the guidance will make it more accessible and boost the profile of sustainability without creating additional carbon costs. We are committed to pursuing best practice in sustainability in the sector, and this innovation in CFDG publications is an exciting step.”

Sustainability in Practice is aimed at charity finance professionals, who have a key role in bringing sustainability into charities thanks to their senior position and their role in performance measurement, reporting and overall efficiency. Sustainability should be embedded as a strategic concern in charities, with the support of the senior management and trustees.

Hard copies of the report are available to purchase for £15. Please contact Kate Hand for further details, on 020 7785 6419, or kate.hand@cfdg.org.uk.
