The 21st CFDG Annual Fundraising Dinner took place on Thursday 29th October 2009, again at the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane.
This year, as ever, the CFDG Dinner was one of the most popular events in our calendar. Bringing together more than 500 CFDG supporters, members and other charity experts, it provided a unique opportuntiy for meeting peers, discussing issues and relaxing in an elegant and informal setting.
Table hosts and their guests enjoyed a sumptuous three course meal and five bottles of wine provided per table, and a cash bar. Funds raised from the sale of tables will be used by CFDG to strengthen its programme of training and policy work in 2010.
Rt Hon David Blunkettt MP
Key speaker
We were delighted to welcome the Rt Hon David Blunkett MP as our after dinner speaker this year. Throughout his time as MP for Sheffield Brightside and during his time as a Secretary of State, David has demonstrated his commitment to the third sector and the role of not for profit organisations and charities as part of the fabric of civil society. In his speech David shared his thoughts on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector as well as entertaining us all with his anecdotes from the front line.
Hosting a table in 2010
Hosting a table is an excellent opportunity to develop client relationships in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. And at the same time you can demonstrate your company's committment to working with CFDG to support the development of skills and knowledge for finance managers in the voluntary sector.
