Annual Fundraising Dinner 2006
The CFDG Annual Dinner on the 26 October 2006 was one of the largest events for charity finance professionals in the sector, bringing a record number of 500 charities and corporate supporters together in a celebration of the work done by all in the last year. The aim of the evening was of course also to raise funds for CFDG’s continuous development of services, which aim to promote best practice in charity finance and governance.
The event was for the first time held at the Royal Courts of Justice and supported by the Royal Bank of Scotland. The Drinks reception at the beginning of the night was supported by accountancy firm Chantrey Vellacott DFK.

Finance Directors Called to Lead on Accountability and Transparency
Speaking at the CFDG Annual Fundraising Dinner, Charity Commission Chair Dame Suzi Leather called for Finance Directors “to be the ones turning our mantra of accountability and transparency into reality”.
Recognising the great pressure Finance Directors often felt to be “all things to all people”, Dame Suzi Leather focused on the increasingly important role Finance plays in charity organisations, and called for Finance Directors to have “the vision to be drivers for change in [their] charities, continuously seeking improvements and working with the Commission to help discover and deliver the whole range of best practice standards and initiatives across the sector.”
Thank you
CFDG would like to thank all those who supported the evening and made it such a success!
