Annual Fundraising Dinner 2004
The 16th CFDG Annual Dinner took place on Thursday 21st October 2004 at The Brewery, a popular London venue which CFDG has chosen for a number of years for its impressive yet warm and welcome atmosphere.
As in the previous 5 years, the evening was sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland.

The reception before the dinner was for the first time sponsored by investment managers Sarasin Chiswell. Our grateful thanks go to them for their generous support.

16th Annual Dinner at The Brewery
This year’s dinner was larger than ever, with 450 guests.
Most tables were sponsored by CFDG subscribers (our commercial sector specialists), who brought their charity clients and guests, which as always included a large number of CFDG charity members.
However, were also pleased to welcome non-members and other sector experts since it is the aim for our dinner to enable encounters and bring the sector together.
We were honoured to welcome Geraldine Peacock, the new Chair of the Charity Commission, as well as the new Commission Chief Executive Andrew Hind as our guests on the night.

Geraldine’s After Dinner Speech was a moving call for charities not to waste time and focus on their purpose. Furthermore, she outlined her vision for an accountable, effective Charity Commission, an image which was also supported by Andrew Hind in a brief statement.
Other speakers of the evening were CFDG’s chairman Paul Breckell as well as Hugh Biddell, from the Royal Bank of Scotland, who expressed his delight to have so many charities come together in this setting and to be able to support this event.
We thank everyone who has been involved in making this such an enjoyable evening – our sponsors, speakers, guests but also our subscribers who – by sponsoring tables – show their commitment to the sector and to CFDG’s work.
