Annual Fundraising Dinner 2003
The 15th CFDG Annual Dinner took place on Thursday 23rd October 2003 at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London EC1. The dinner was once again sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland, who have sponsored the event for the past five years. Our grateful thanks go to them for their continued and generous support.
Paul Breckell
The dinner was attended by 420 guests; these included CFDG subscribers (commercial sector specialists) with their charity clients and guests, plus CFDG charity members, staff and our special guests.
This year's guest speaker was Frances Edmonds, accomplished writer and broadcaster.
Her work as a conference interpreter for the European Commission has allowed her to travel extensively for many international organisations including the UN.
Some of Frances’ biggest publishing successes include her cricket-based best-sellers Another Bloody Tour and Cricket XXXX Cricket, and Samson and Delilah and Star of Heaven.

Additionally, Frances presents ‘Women On Top’, a BBC Radio 5 Live programme about women in sport, and ‘Women’s Troubles’ a humorous panel game featuring female alternative comedians.
Frances’ highly praised speaking style sees her combine a lively sense of humour, quick wit and vast knowledge due to her broad range of experience. Her speech at our dinner was both entertaining and thought-provoking, and was greatly enjoyed.
Additionally, speeches were given by Paul Breckell, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for CFDG, and Stephanie Allison, Head of Community Investment for The Royal Bank of Scotland.
The event was once again a great success; an evening of good food and good company, and an excellent networking opportunity for all those present. We now look forward to our 16th Annual Dinner in 2004!
