Annual Fundraising Dinner 2007

The 19th CFDG Annual Fundraising Dinner took place on Wednesday 3rd October 2007 for the first time at the Grosvenor Square Marriott Hotel.

Executive of the Charities Aid Foundation

The CFDG Annual Dinner, which has become one of the most popular events in the charity calendar, brought together a record number of 530 guests on the night with guests from both charities and the corporate sector.  In an impressive setting, guests were able to meet old friends and make new contacts at the Drinks Reception before joining their table hosts for, what everyone will agree, was a superb Dinner.  The event also raises funds for CFDG’s ongoing work to promote and develop best practice in charity finance.

Delivering social benefit

In his after dinner speech, Dr John Low, the newly appointed Chief Executive of the Charities Aid Foundation, sounded a warning note that the role of finance directors is about to get harder.   Dr Low speculated that the economy might be in for some testing times over the coming months and called on finance directors to “squeeze value out of every last penny, maximise efficiencies and shrink overheads so that charities can continue to deliver the social benefit they strive for”.

Thank you

Our thanks go to all our corporate partners and supporters who were once again involved in the event, and took the opportunity to invite many CFDG members to this special occasion.

Special thanks once again go to the overall sponsors of the evening, the Royal Bank of Scotland, who have been supporting this event for a number of years and to Chantrey Vellacott for the Drinks Reception.
