Dear Member

IMPACT OF THE CREDIT CRUNCH - BOOK HERE

Event Invitation - Monday 1st December

As you will be aware, the Institute of Fundraising, the Charity Finance Directors' Group (CFDG) and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), recently collaborated to undertake a definitive piece of research, of direct relevance to fundraising and finance directors.

Organisational members of the Institute, and members of the CFDG, were invited to take part in this important survey and input from a wider audience was also encouraged through the survey's accessibility and prominence on the Institute website.

YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND A SPECIAL EVENT AT WHICH THE RESULTS OF THE SURVEY, TOGETHER WITH PWC ECONOMIC ANALYSIS AND STRATEGIES FOR WORKING THROUGH THIS PERIOD OF ANTICIPATED RECESSION, WILL BE PRESENTED.

The findings from this piece of work - which looks into the potential impact of an economic slowdown on organisations - will support charities' plans for the future.

Lindsay Boswell, Chief Executive, Institute of Fundraising, states:

"There is no doubt that the credit crunch will have an impact on voluntary income. It is now extremely important for fundraisers to be as informed as possible about the current economic climate and its implications, so as to ensure viable ongoing plans."

Ian Oakley-Smith, Director, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, comments:

"PricewaterhouseCoopers' charities team has worked with many charities over the years to assist them to adapt to a changing financial environment, by providing insight and robust financial challenge. Through their involvement in the sector generally and their experience in particular working with charities experiencing financial difficulties, they are well placed to advise on best practice to remain flexible, informed and effective in the likely difficult times ahead."

Keith Hickey, Chief Executive, Charity Finance Directors Group, says:

"The current economic climate will bring difficult times to the most vulnerable people around the world and in the UK. It is imperative that charities are able to maximise their resources available for their beneficiaries at this time, resources that are under threat by high levels of inflation, potential loss of income, unemployment etc. This definitive survey and the report resulting from it will give charities a valuable insight into the current environment and assist them in their planning processes."

We hope, therefore, that you will be able to attend this special free event - and that you will appreciate that those who attend will be the first to receive a complementary copy of the full survey report and findings.
