About the Conference
The 13th CFDG Annual Charity Finance Conference took place on 26 May 2004.
Held once more at the Royal College of Physicians, 300 delegates enjoyed an inspiring and informative day. Brought together by the theme "Managing the Cost of Change" the conference streams will embrace issues of financial accountability as well as compliance questions raised by the newly emerging regulatory frameworks. Looking further ahead, the conference also aims to help delegates to develop new perspectives about charity management, cost reduction and cross-functional interaction within their organisation.
2004 is a year full of regulatory changes - with a new SORP and the Charities Bill looming, the charities sector is evolving. Looking back at a successful 17-year history in promoting excellence in charity finance management, the Charity Finance Directors' Group presented a forward-looking programme at this year's Annual Conference. The conference was once again CFDG’ s central event in a very exciting year for everyone engaged in finance, reporting and management in the sector and over 20 speakers addressed our senior audience throughout the day. The Reception
At the end of the day, delegates enjoyed the drinks reception, kindly sponsored by Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, which provided the ideal opportunity to network with speakers and delegates.

“Full marks! An excellent, well-organised conference.”
“This latest conference was the best of the five that I’ve been to. It was really well attended and had a full programme. Difficult choices in which sessions to miss had to be made. All the sessions I attended were very informative and will be useful in helping me draft my work programme for the next year!”
